John 1:6-9

John 1:6-9

There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify about the light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but he came to testify about the light. The true light that gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. (John 1:6-9)

Pastor John’s Notes:

God calls his people to bear testimony about Jesus, and all of us begin our journey of faith having heard the message from someone who knows the Lord and loves us. God uses this to inspire us to repent of our sin and turn to him. Sometimes, it is easy for us to get attached to these message bearers, yet it is not the messenger we should love, but the one who sent the message. All of us in some way can do the work of John the Baptist. God will bring many opportunities our way to point others to the Savior. All we need is an open heart to God and love for each person we encounter.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for the people you put in my life to tell me of your love. Remove from me every inner barrier that keeps me from speaking of you to others. Let boldness overtake me. Let my heart be open to every opportunity to you bring my way to share the love of Jesus Christ.
