Christmas Eve at Hempfield UMC

Join us to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ!

This year there will be four Christmas Eve services.

4 p.m. (Praise Band)

6 p.m. (Band & Choir)

8 p.m. (Band & Choir)

10 p.m.(Organ & Communion) 


We welcome our members and regular attendees to help us with our celebration of Christmas. Please consider volunteering to help us make this a Christmas to remember at Hempfield UMC.

QUIET CHRISTMAS

Are you struggling at this time of year, or grieving the loss of a loved one? Do you wish to celebrate Christmas in a quieter and more contemplative way this year? This service will include candle lighting in memory of loved ones, Advent wreath lighting, special harp music, and a contemplative message on the Christmas story. Led by Minister of Spiritual Care & Counseling Brenda Coffin.
WHEN: Sunday, Dec. 9, 2 p.m.

SHARE-A-CHRISTMAS

This is an opportunity for you to provide Christmas for someone in our community. By signing out an ornament from the Share-A-Christmas tree, our HUMC family provides gifts for local adult homes and families in surrounding communities.
WHEN: Dec. 1 – 16
WHERE: Visit the Share-A-Christmas tree in the lobby beginning Dec. 2


CRECHE WRAPPING PROJECT

This is a service opportunity where volunteers wrap Creche pieces for children at HUMC.
WHEN: Monday, Dec. 3, 10 a.m.
WHERE: Spirit Café


CHRISTMAS CAROLING

Open to all ages. Join us as various caroling groups canvas different areas in the community.
WHEN: Sunday, Dec. 16, 3 – 6 p.m.
WHERE: Meet in sanctuary at 3 p.m.


KIDSTUF CHRISTMAS PRODUCTIONS

December 5 & 19 – 6:30 p.m. – Multi-Purpose Room 

Geared toward families of elementary-aged children, Kidstuf is a 45-minute event filled with fun skits, high-energy singing, jokes for all ages, a Biblical story and interactive times with the audience, all emphasizing a Biblical virtue. Join us for 2 special Christmas editions of Kidstuf in December.


WRAP-IT-UP EVENT

Those helped by HUMC’s Share-A-Christmas ministry are invited to come and wrap the gifts for their family members. Greeters, wrappers and nursery helpers are needed for this event.

CHRISTMAS EVE FOOD DRIVE

Place bags of canned or other non-perishable food items around the Christmas tree at any of our four Christmas Eve services. Donated items benefit the Hempfield Food Bank (Landisville), Council of Churches Food Bank, Columbia Food Bank, and also are used to supplement HUMC’s Food Pantry.
