Child registration is now open for Hempfield UMC VBS. This year, VBS Time Lab will transport each one of us, as we travel back and into the future to meet the most important man in history ever – God!

Do You Love To Act, Sing Or Dance?
We are looking for teens and adults to lead VBS worship. Practices will be Sunday evenings. We also need actors. Drama rehearsals will be held Friday evenings. Stage crew members are also needed.

We also are collecting clean tin cans of any size, empty paper towel tubes and empty water bottles with lids (17-20 oz.) for use at VBS this year. There is a collection box for these items near the rear entrance of the lobby. Thank you for helping us make it great year for VBS at Hempfield UMC.

HUMC Labyrinth Walk
Sunday July 29, 9 & 11:15 a.m.
Hempfield UMC Grounds (Look for signs)

Join us for an outdoor labyrinth walk at HUMC. The labyrinth is a prayerful and reflective walking practice that has 4000 year old roots. Brought to you by the Contemplative Community and Veriditas Advanced -Trained Facilitator Carmel Stabley. The rain date is Aug 8.  A brief history and walking instructions will be shared with take home materials.

Help With Game Day at Sylvan Retreat
Wednesday, August 8, 10:30 a.m – 1 p.m.
Sylvan Retreat – Mountville

Join us at Sylvan Retreat in Mountville to serve at their “Grown Up Game Day” event. This annual event provides fun and fellowship to residents of this senior living facility. We need volunteers to help with the games, to provide food and prize donations, and to mix and mingle with the residents.


Summer in the Psalms

Pastor Ed will be leading a study in the Psalms . Continental breakfast is included. Everyone is invited. No sign up.  Just come and enjoy!

Young Adult Bible Study
July 9 & 23, August 6 & 20
7 p.m. Room 172

This bible study group for young adults will discuss age specific issues as they relate to the scriptures. The group will meet every other Monday throughout the summer at Hempfield UMC in room 172. Home from college for the summer? Join us!

First Aid & Hands-On CPR Training Sessions
Sunday July 15, 1 p.m.  Spirit Cafe

Would you know what to do if someone was injured or having a medical emergency? Join us for first aid and hands-on CPR training. It is primarily for our volunteers, but all are welcome. This two-hour training will be led by Mike Tonkay in the Spirit Cafe. Registration is required.


Nicole Unice – The Struggle is Real

Come experience an event full of story, worship, and biblical teaching. Be encouraged and deepened in your faith, while connecting with other people in your community! Learn how to find the joy in screw-ups, let-downs, and the downright ridiculous stuff in life from Nicole Unice’s down-to-earth, humorous, and honest teaching from The Struggle is Real.

Adult Retreat by the Sea

Our Senior Adult ministry is sponsoring a time of Spiritual Renewal at the Port O Call Hotel, which is conveniently located on the beach in Ocean City, NJ. The retreat, “Serendipity by the Sea,” is scheduled for Oct. 15- 17 and is open to all adults. We will be led by pastors Keith and Heather. Pastors Bruce and Ed also will be participating.
