Winter Shelter

Winter Shelter

Did you know that during the cold winter months, there is an increase in the number of individuals who are experiencing homelessness in Lancaster County? To accommodate this increased need, the Lancaster County Council of Churches (in conjunction with the Lancaster County Coalition to End Homelessness) runs an emergency winter shelter for women and their children at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church December through March. To keep the doors open, volunteers from various congregations run the shelter during their assigned week. HUMC’s week to run the shelter is February 18-24.
