OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE OTHERS IN 2018
There will be many opportunities to serve locally, nationally, and internationally this coming year. Local service opportunities will be highlighted throughout the year, including the Lancaster YWCA’s annual Women’s Shelter (with over 50 volunteer time slots and opportunities available Feb. 12-18). There is also a Mission Trip Training on Jan. 20 for anyone interested in learning more about being a part of a mission trip team. We will be offering mission trips to Haiti, Zambia, Kenya, as well as to Florida and Texas for the reconstruction phase following recent hurricanes.
It may be hard to feel optimistic about the future after you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, and you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before. GriefShare groups meet weekly to help those who are grieving face these challenges and move toward rebuilding their life. Each GriefShare session has three distinct elements: a video, discussion and personal study and reflection.
