They broke bread from house to house. (Acts 2:46)
Pastor John’s Notes:
The believers of the newly born church didn’t just meet for worship in the temple, they met together for fellowship in each other’s homes. The breaking of bread is a simple meal. Jesus meets us not only in the context of our corporate worship but also in our intimate conversations. Christianity is more than a set of beliefs; it is a network of relationships. God wants us to nurture these relationships and enjoy them. Because our friendship with other believers is grounded in our mutual friendship in Christ, these relationships can become lifelong treasures.
Lord, thank you for the treasure of Christian friendship with other believers. Teach me how to nurture and treasure these relationships. Let them be a lifelong source of encouragement and joy .
