God is Faithful – Daniel 1:18-21

God is Faithful – Daniel 1:18-21

At the end of the time that the king had said to present them, the chief eunuch presented them to Nebuchadnezzar.  The king interviewed them, and among all of them, no one was found equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. So they began to attend the king.  In every matter of wisdom and understanding that the king consulted them about, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and mediums in his entire kingdom.  Daniel remained there until the first year of King Cyrus. (Daniel 1:18-21)

Reflection

God blessed these four young men who had chosen to remain faithful to him. God always rewards faithfulness! The blessings of faithfulness may not be apparent at first but will tend to materialize later. In this final examination by the king, the faithfulness of God to these four young men was manifest. The king began to use them as his consultants, and as we will see in later stories, their positions of power and influence brought great blessing to all of God’s people.

Life Application

The rewards of faithfulness may not materialize all at once, but if you remain faithful to God, God will be faithful to you. God will bring blessings that you could not arrange for yourself. Throughout the course of your spiritual journey, you will face many opportunities to express your faithfulness. Take advantage of every one! Do not be hesitant or afraid. Again, God always rewards those who are faithful to him!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for your faithfulness; teach me to be faithful to you. Help me to identify the opportunities you will bring my way to express my faithfulness. Even though the rewards may not appear all at once, still let me trust in you for my future, knowing that your blessings far exceed anything I might arrange for myself.
