God’s Will That We Have Eternal Life – John 6:40

God’s Will That We Have Eternal Life – John 6:40

This week we will look at verses that express the will of God. The will of God is always constant, so when we align ourselves with God’s purposes, we experience God’s blessings. We begin with a statement of God’s will concerning our belief in his Son Jesus Christ.

For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” (John 6:40)

God has provided a way for the entire world to be saved through his Son Jesus Christ. If God gave his Son for the entire world, then he desires that everyone would be saved. And God’s will never changes! Everyone who turns to Jesus Christ will receive the gift of eternal life. This is God’s promise, and God’s promises cannot fail.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the salvation you freely offer to all those who turn to your Son Jesus Christ. Teach me to trust and rest in your promise of eternal life.

Life Application:

The condition for the salvation of the entire world already exists. Jesus Christ has offered his life on the cross for our redemption, and it is the will of God that everyone would be saved. There is nothing more for God to do; all that remains is for each of us to accept God’s offer. If you have not received Christ as Savior, it is not due to anything lacking on God’s part. God has already demonstrated his unfailing love for you and has already paved the way for your redemption. So wait no longer. Believe in Christ and receive God’s wonderful promise. This is God’s will for you; make it your will as well!
