And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:16-20)
Pastor John’s Notes:
It is easy for us to think of discipleship as a course of study, like a curriculum we can learn in a classroom. But discipleship is a relationship with Jesus Christ as our Master. Without this one-on-one relationship, there can be no discipleship. This is why Jesus ended “The Great Commission” with a promise that he would be with us always. His Holy Spirit not only awakens us to the truths of God but walks with us daily. It is Jesus himself who teaches us everything we need to know. It is also Jesus who directs our activities and enables us to make disciples of others. We can do nothing of spiritual value without his presence and direction. But with him, we can do all things!
Lord Jesus Christ, thank you that you are with us, even to the very end of this age. Teach us to walk in close fellowship with you. Let our discipleship be grounded in a continual, intimate relationship with you!
