Joy in Christ – John 15:11

Joy in Christ – John 15:11

“I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. (John 15:11)

Reflection:

There is great joy in abiding in Christ. True joy does not originate from us nor is it generated by the circumstances of our lives. True joy comes from Christ, and he wants to share his joy with us, the joy of the victorious Son of God! When we have his joy, we will need nothing more. His joy is complete and lacks nothing. It permeates every part of our being, is always accessible to us, and never fails.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus Christ, share with me the joy that is in you, that I might overcome the sorrows and sufferings of this life and have a foretaste of heaven yet to come.

Life Application:

Jesus is the most joyful person who ever lived. He overcame all the temptations and hardships of this world and has even become victorious over death itself. He wants to share his joy with you, but to obtain it, you must abide in him. Thankfully, Jesus is always available to us. We do not need to travel to a distant country or pay an exorbitant fee. His joy is available and free; we need only desire it and pursue it. So open your soul to Jesus. Find your way to him each day, and let your spirit commune with his. He will share his very self with you!
