Love Defined: Love is Kind – (1 Corinthians 13:4)

Love is kind. (1 Corinthians 13:4)

Reflection:

Kindness is love expressed in the moment. Kindness is always a choice. It is a decision we make to act in some simple way for another person’s benefit or well-being and is typically expressed in small day-to-day interactions. In every encounter, we have the opportunity to show our love through some small act of kindness.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for the kindness you show to me day-by-day. Let me learn to practice kindness in all my interactions with others.

Life Application:

Daily kindness keeps the fire of love alive within us. Decide today that you will express kindness toward everyone you meet. Even a smile can make a difference. Then pay attention to how others respond to you. Kindness is magnetic and draws others to us. People are more willing to talk and open up after we express our love toward them. Kindness toward those we already love is a reminder that we still love them. Kindness toward strangers is like a sign we post on our front door that says, “You are Welcome!” Once the door is open, new friendships can form.
