Love Defined: Love is Not Proud. (1 Corinthians 13:4)

Love is not proud. (1 Corinthians 13:4)

Reflection:

Boasting stems from pride. Boasting is what we say to others; pride is what we feel internally. Pride is an offense against God because when we are prideful, we are claiming credit for something that God gave us. Every talent you have is a gift from God. Everything you possess has come from God. Every relationship you have is a gift. Loving others means that we need to pull pride out by the root.

Prayer:

Lord, root out all pride within my soul. Humble me with the knowledge that everything I have has come from you.

Life Application:

Take a good look within yourself and root out any sense of pridefulness. You can root something out of your soul by verbally offering praise to God. Go into your private room and close the door. Confess your sin of pride to God. Tell God that you know everything you have has come from Him. Speaking things out before God is like signing your name to a contract. In the spiritual realm, verbal confession completes the work God wants to do within you. All of us have pride within us, and all of us must confess it as sin. When we are released from pride, our relationships improve. Love has no pride, and neither should you. So do some weeding in the garden of your soul.
