Nobles Seek Out the King – Daniel 4:36

Nobles Seek Out the King – Daniel 4:36

At that time my sanity returned to me, and my majesty and splendor returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers and my nobles sought me out, I was reestablished over my kingdom, and even more greatness came to me. (Daniel 4:36)

Reflection

God always disciplines us for our good. When we are humbled and then return to God, our condition is often better than before.  Even while Nebuchadnezzar was being humbled, God was working behind the scenes for his restoration. Once Nebuchadnezzar’s sanity was restored, his former advisors sought him out because they needed his leadership. Nebuchadnezzar’s new life of humility brought greater blessing than even his former glory.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you that you are always working for our good, even when you humble us. Help me to trust in your benevolent leadership even in those times when I am being disciplined. Help me to know that my future will be better than my past.

Life Application

We should never be afraid of God’s discipline but endure it faithfully. God is always working for our good, and the end result will be better than our former condition. So trust in God for your future, even when you are going through a time of challenge or discipline. God is always working behind the scenes for your good.
