Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)
Pastor John’s Notes:
Jesus Christ made unique claims. He did not claim to know the way, nor did he claim to know the truth, or the life; he claimed to be them. We tend to think that there are eternal principles in the universe that even God must obey. But there is nothing above God. Truth is truth because God declares it to be so. And truth is merely one expression of God’s character. Jesus’ claim to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life challenges the modern notion that he is merely one of many great teachers throughout human history. Jesus never claimed to be a great teacher; he claimed to be God in the flesh. Each of us must therefore make a decision about who Jesus is based on his claim.
Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for entering into the world to show us the Way of God. I believe that you are exactly who you claimed to be. You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Let your Holy Spirit reside within me and show me your Way.
