When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. (John 16:13)
Truth is more than fact. While we may understand what the facts are in any given situation, facts can be interpreted in many different ways. Truth is the way that God sees things. The only way for us to have access to the truth is through a relationship with God. God promises to give us the gift of the Spirit so that we can understand the truth. The Spirit conveys the truth of God without any spin or hidden agenda. Through the Spirit, God guides us in the way of all truth and withholds nothing from us.
Lord Jesus Christ, send me your Holy Spirit and guide me into the way of all truth.
Whenever you face a difficult or confusing circumstance, take some time to lift up the matter to God in prayer. Invite the Holy Spirit to reveal His truth to you. The Spirit will provide all you need for the moment. If you find it difficult to do this on your own, get together with some other Christian brothers and sisters. Spend some time in spiritual conversation about the matter, then spend some time in prayer. What is difficult for you to accomplish alone may be easily accomplished in the company of other believers. While there are some matters that God wishes us to deal with one on one with Him, there are other matters that God wants us to share with others as the body of Christ.
