The Narrow Way – Matthew 7:13-14

The Narrow Way – Matthew 7:13-14

Enter through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it. How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)

Pastor John’s Notes:

The way of holiness is an uphill battle. It is an unfortunate reality that while we live on earth it will always be easier to sin than to obey God. This means that as we journey forward, we will experience many difficulties, backslidings, and discouragements. But all along the way, Jesus will give his wisdom, strength, and encouragement.  This is a battle worth fighting, for we are fighting for the eternal state of our soul. This is a journey worth taking, for it leads to the eternal city of God!

Lord Jesus Christ, I wish to leave the broad way that leads to destruction and walk the narrow path that leads to life. Strengthen me for the journey ahead. Encourage me when I fall. Seek me out when I backslide. Give me the wisdom to continually press forward so that I might gain eternal life and a place in your heavenly kingdom.
