LIVING WITH CANCER SUPPORT GROUP

LIVING WITH CANCER, is an educational/spiritual/emotional/psychological support group open to anyone in the community who is currently battling cancer, in survivorship or is a caregiver. The group will delve into the mind, body, spiritual and emotional aspects of facing and living with cancer. While some people are in an active cancer battle, others face internal fears that their cancer will return.  The group format includes the whole person through emotional, spiritual and communal support as well as, through education, tools and resources. Prayer and meditation is a regular part of the format.

Living with Cancer support group is a faith-based support group premised on hope and health. Topics include fears around re-occurrence, maintaining a positive attitude; how to position yourself for the battle ahead, self care, asking others for help and support, etc. The group is led by cancer survivor, Pastor Brenda Coffin, LSW, SD, PCC, Hempfield UMC’s Minister of Spiritual Care and Counseling. It is free and open to the public.
