Living With Cancer – Lunchtime Support Group

LIVING WITH CANCER LUNCHTIME SUPPORT GROUP

LIVING WITH CANCER, is an educational/spiritual/emotional/psychological support group open to anyone in the community who is currently battling cancer, in survivorship or is a caregiver. Our meetings are held every other week from September to May on Wednesdays,  noon to 1:15 p.m., Prayer Room, at Hempfield United Methodist Church 3050 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601. The group will delve into the mind, body, spiritual and emotional aspects of facing and living with cancer. While some people are in an active cancer battle, others face internal fears that their cancer will return.  The group format includes the whole person through emotional, spiritual and communal support as well as, through education, tools and resources. Prayer and meditation is a regular part of the format. The group is led by cancer survivor, Brenda Coffin, LSW, SD, PCC, Hempfield UMC’s Minister of Spiritual Care and Counseling. The 2019 group will include the book “Spiritual Heart of Your Health: A Devotional Guide on the healing Stories of Jesus”. There is a $12 cost for the book.
