The Book of Philippians shows us what is possible when the church gets things right. Saint Paul loved the believers in Philippi and called them “My Joy and Crown.” They worked in harmonious partnership with one another, pursued the mind of Christ, and obtained the peace of God. Jesus Christ called himself the Good Shepherd who lays down his life for the sheep. This is one of the “I am” statements of Jesus by which he defined himself, his work, and his relationship with us. When we know Jesus as our Good Shepherd, we have peace and will follow him wherever he leads.
