Understanding Future Care Needs

John Sauder, President and CEO of Mennonite Home Communities, will help us understand the choices we have in the community when we can no longer live at home. We will learn about future care services, plus discover what is and is not covered my Medicare and long term care insurance. We will get clarificaiton on confusing terminology and leave empowered to make informed and educated decisions about future health care services for ourselves or our loved ones.)

Know the 10 Signs of Dementia and Alzheimers Disease

Offered on two different dates:

Tues., Mar. 31, 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. – Spirit Cafe

Candy Yingling, a community educator from the Alzheimer’s Association, will share information about Alzheimer’s and other dementias that cause memory, thinking and behavior problems and how they interfere with daily living. Topics include: typical age-related changes, common warning signs of Alzheimer’s, how to approach someone with memory concerns, early detection, the benefits of a diagnosis, the diagnostic process and resources available from the Alzheimer’s Association.

Healthy Living for the Brain & Body

Candy Yingling, a community educator from the Alzheimer’s Association, will share current research and practical information on ways to help you age well. It begins with an overview of how human beings age and how the brain works. It is organized to provide information about what we know and what we can do in the areas of physical health and exercise, diet and nutrition, cognitive activity and social engagement.
