Rev. Heather Hammel

Rev. Heather Hammel

“The church is more than a building, it’s a family. When we gather together to worship God, we also gather as brothers and sisters in Christ. We support, challenge, respect, love, and care for one another. We also join together, shoulder to shoulder, serving Hempfield UMC, our communities, and our world.”

Heather is a newly licensed and appointed part-time local pastor in the United Methodist Church. She has grown up in the United Methodist Church (in Ohio) and has been a part of the HUMC family since 2008. She is also a Christ Servant Minister and Certified Lay Speaker in the Eastern PA Conference of the UMC. Heather’s undergraduate studies were at Ohio Wesleyan University in Theatre and English Education. She is now studying at Evangelical Theological Seminary for her Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. Heather and her husband, Matthew, have two sons, James and Michael, and live in Hallam.
