We’re in the process of building a team of compassionate volunteers who have the desire to make a positive impact on children’s lives. We invite you to consider a volunteer position, which is an essential first-step in being able to continue your children’s programs.
If you are interested in becoming a partner in this ministry, please contact Wendy Matchett.
We have many safety procedures in place to protect our volunteers and children alike. HUMC’s green-stage protocols (required face-coverings, social distancing, sanitizing etc.) will be followed along with additional guidelines and precautions we’ve put in place for our children’s programs, including providing personal protective equipment (PPE) for our children’s ministries volunteers.
PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR CHILDREN TO ATTEND KIDS KONNECTION – REGISTRATION IS OPEN UNTIL NOON ON THURSDAY OF EACH WEEK. WALK IN CHILDREN MAY BE ADMITTED ON SUNDAY MORNING DEPENDING ON CLASS SIZES AND AVAILABLE VOLUNTEERS.
When you register your child for the first time this school year, please select the New Registration option. You will then be presented with the necessary Registration and COVID acknowledgement forms to complete online.
Preschool Kids Konnection
The mission of our Children’s Ministries is to know Jesus and make Him known through caring adults who build positive relationships with children, helping them to grow in their relationships with God.
Kids Konnection is our Sunday morning worship, teaching and team time. A wide array of children and youth programs begin at 10 a.m. on Sundays.
Presently, Preschool-aged children have been welcomed into one classroom where siblings have felt safe together learning about God and His son, Jesus. To keep our children safe, we follow Safe Sanctuary guidelines and will add additional classrooms when needed to keep classes small, between 10-12 kids. Our current attendance has been less than 10 kids. Once our attendance grows, we will be dividing the children into one of two to three classrooms based on their ages- an “Older” class(es) for ages 4, 5 and Kindergarteners and one “Younger” class for 2 and 3 year-olds. Children and teachers are required to wear a mask or face shield.
