Studio252.tv is designed for families with elementary-aged kids and coordinates with our HUMC’s elementary curriculum. It includes Resources for Parents, Fun2Do! activities, Fun2Watch! teaching, Fun2Listen! music video and Fun2Read! lessons. While the main site is great for families to explore together, kids can enjoy creating their own profiles in their own individual accounts. The Parents page is a one-stop shop to help elementary parents “do family” better.
“Sundays at Home” resources are available with a parent guide, video teaching and a family activity for elementary ages.
FAQs for Parents of Elementary Students
How can I lead my kids in a lesson at home? Although we feel it is best to worship and learn in a community, we know there are times when that is not possible. That’s why we offer “Sundays @ Home”. The “Sundays @ Home” link provides a parent guide and a link to video teaching which includes worship songs for the full experience.
I want to incorporate daily devotions with my elementary kids. Can I get resources that tie into what is taught on Sunday? Absolutely, we send home each week a God Time paper that includes 4 days of devotional readings / activities for your elementary kids to use. Not able to be at church? … no problem, download the The Parent Cue App which provides parents with simple cues throughout the week that are centered around the lesson from Sunday to help them connect to their kids through everyday moments — in the car, at the dinner table, and when bedtime hits.
What is Kidstuf all about? KidStuf, a ministry of Hempfield United Methodist Church, is an experience geared toward families of elementary-aged children. This 45-minute production is filled with fun skits, high-energy singing, Bible encounters, and audience interaction, all emphasizing Biblical virtues that we call Life Apps.
Traditional Sunday school programs, although very impactful, involve an adult teaching a child for approximately 48 hours a year. Conversely, parents spend about 3,000 hours per year with their children. KidStuf aims to “tap in” to this available parent/child teaching time. With the parents SHARING the experience and viewing first-hand what their children are experiencing, they are better prepared to further discuss it after they leave the production. This is consistent with God’s command in Deuteronomy 6:7, parents are to teach their children “ . . .when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up”.
At KidStuf, families watch skits, which have both kid-and adult-based humor, sing audience-friendly worship songs, watch a short video clip, and experience an interactive Bible lesson TOGETHER.
My kids love the songs they learn in Kids Konnection and Kidstuf. How can I get this music for us to have at home? That’s awesome! Check out the following links on Spotify:
