GRIEFSHARE

GriefShare is a support group providing a warm, caring environment for those experiencing the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend. The experience includes three parts: a video, support group and workbook study. Cost: $20

LIVING WITH CANCER

Open to the community, this free, educational/spiritual/emotional support group delves into mind, body, spiritual and emotional aspects of facing and living with cancer. Designed for those in treatment or a supportive role as cancer caregiver\friend, and also cancer survivors, the group is led by cancer survivor and HUMC Minister of Spiritual Care & Counseling, Brenda Coffin.

WHEN: Every other Wednesday through May 22, noon – 1:15 p.m.

SONS & DAUGHTERS OF THE KING

Struggling with overload, worry, depression, addictions, anxiety, self esteem, fears, rejection and forgiveness? We invite you to our ministry for emotional healing, soul restoration, prayer and finding your new identity in Christ. Men and women meet separately once a month. WHEN: Sundays, 8:45 – 9:45 a.m.

We offer daytime and evening bible studies for men, women, mixed groups and senior adults. See the HUMC website for dates, topics and details for each study.

Open to all men. Discussions center on HUMC sermons and subjects relevant to men.

A group exclusively for women parenting teens and preteens to discuss age-related challenges teens and parents face.

DINNER AND A MOVIE

Come watch the movie, Risen (PG-13), followed by a meal with movie discussion. This movie looks at the Roman military tribune, Clavius, when he’s tasked to investigate what happened to Jesus following the Crucifixion. Registration required. $1 per person at the door. Pre-registered childcare.

STARTING POINT

Designed for those new to HUMC, Starting Point is a 30-minute program about our church, our leadership and our ministries. A building tour will be available. No registration required.

CONTEMPLATIVE COMMUNITY – SPRING MINI SERIES

Exploring Transformation through Inspired Literature – As we connect with and see ourselves in the story of “Stone Soup,” a fable handed down for generations, we will explore and reference bible events, look at how lives were changed and community formed, and explore the light and shadow sides of humanity through the eyes of those in this inspired writing. Register by Feb. 24.

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION – FOR WOMEN

These contemplative gatherings are open to groups of up to 12 women. Sessions are steeped in listening, respect, confidentiality and hospitality, providing a process for participants to seek God’s presence, listen to His voice and discern what He is saying.

WHAT MATTERS IN THE END

GUY STUFF – THINGS MEN STRUGGLE WITH

Our headline speaker will be Area Director of Priority One, Steve Fessler. Break-out sessions include: Handyman 101, Family Budgeting, and Family Communication. Lunch (wings, bacon and burgers) provided. Corn hole tournament and  worship. Registration required. Cost $10.

NO REGRETS MEN’S BIBLE STUDY

WHY ADDICTION IS A FAMILY DISEASE – a series of three workshops

Panel members will discuss the clinical, spiritual, psychological and relational aspects of the addiction sickness and its impact on family members. Q&A time and a soup and salad bar provided. Free-will offering. Register by Mar. 29.
