LIVING WITH CANCER

Open to the community, this free, educational/spiritual/emotional support group delves into mind, body, spiritual and emotional aspects of facing and living with cancer. Designed for those in treatment or a supportive role as cancer caregiver\friend, and also cancer survivors, the group is led by cancer survivor and HUMC Minister of Spiritual Care & Counseling, Brenda Coffin.

WHEN: Every other Wednesday through May 22, noon – 1:15 p.m.

SONS & DAUGHTERS OF THE KING

Struggling with overload, worry, depression, addictions, anxiety, self esteem, fears, rejection and forgiveness? We invite you to our ministry for emotional healing, soul restoration, prayer and finding your new identity in Christ. Men and women meet separately once a month. WHEN: Sundays, 8:45 – 9:45 a.m.

Daughters of the King (women) Second Sunday of each month

Sons of the King (men) Fourth Sunday of each month

BIBLE STUDIES

We offer daytime and evening bible studies for men, women, mixed groups and senior adults. See the HUMC website for dates, topics and details for each study.

Monday Evening (Men & Women) 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.; Room 124

Tuesday Evening (Women) 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.; Sanctuary

Thursday Morning (Women) 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.; Room 124

Thursday Morning (Senior adults)  9:30 – 10:30 a.m.; Light breakfast served; Spirit  Café; No sign-ups required.


SHOUT MEN

Open to all men. Discussions center on HUMC sermons and subjects relevant to men.

WHEN: Every second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m.

SHOUT FOR MOMS

A group exclusively for women parenting teens and preteens to discuss age-related challenges teens and parents face. 

WHEN: Every third Thursday of the month from 7 – 8:30 p.m.

WHERE: Room 172


STARTING POINT

Designed for those new to HUMC, Starting Point is a 30-minute program about our church, our leadership and our ministries. A building tour will be available. No registration required.

WHEN: Sunday, May 19 following each worship service

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION – FOR WOMEN

These contemplative gatherings are open to groups of up to 12 women. Sessions are steeped in listening, respect, confidentiality and hospitality, providing a process for participants to seek God’s presence, listen to His voice and discern what He is saying.

WHEN: Mar. 13 & 27, Apr. 10 & 24, May 8 & 22

Mornings 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.    Evenings 6:15 – 7:45 p.m.

NO REGRETS MEN’S BIBLE STUDY

A follow up to “Guy Stuff – Things Men Struggle With,” this study is led by the Men’s Discipleship Team.”Beginning The Race – Men with No Regrets” by Steve Sonderman will be discussed in a small group break-out format. Bagels and fruit provided.

WHY ADDICTION IS A FAMILY DISEASE – a series of three workshops

Panel members will discuss the clinical, spiritual, psychological and relational aspects of the addiction sickness and its impact on family members. Q&A time and a soup and salad bar provided. Free-will offering. Register by Mar. 29.

CHRISTIAN CAREGIVING – A WAY OF LIFE

“What difference does my Christianity make in the caring and relating I do?” Participates are challenged and equipped to care for others in a distinctively Christian way. Cost: $15. Register by May 5.

This year’s church picnic will include music, games and food (bring a side, salad or dessert). Main course (meat) will be provided. Free-will offering. Register by June 5.

CONTEMPLATIVE RETREAT

Take your relationship with God to a deeper level at a retreat offering time and space away from the busyness and demands of your daily life. Allow your mind, body and spirit to surrender to God’s presence and the Spirit’s moving. Topic to be announced. Led by HUMC Minister of Spiritual Care & Counseling, Brenda Coffin.

SHOUT – HUMC youth ministry for grades 7- 12

ORGANIC – A bible study around the dinner table; Wednesdays 7 – 9 p.m.

SUNDAY MORNING SHOUT (SMS) – 10 a.m.; meet in the Sanctuary for corporate worship, then move to rooms 170 & 172 for small group experience.

SUNDAY NIGHT SHOUT (SNS) 6 – 8 p.m. during school term; various rooms
